Tax Disputes & Revenue Interventions
We act for company directors, shareholders and private individuals in disputes with the Revenue Commissioners, from the first notice of audit to an appeal before the Tax Appeals Commission or the courts.
A Revenue intervention is a legal process as much as an accounting one, and the decisions made in its first weeks shape everything that follows. We advise on how to respond to an audit or an investigation, what disclosure is appropriate, and how to negotiate a settlement that closes the matter on sustainable terms. Where an assessment is wrong we challenge it.
The work spans income tax, corporation tax, VAT, capital gains tax and payroll compliance. We engage tax counsel and forensic accountants where the matter needs them, and we manage the process so that the client's business can keep running while the dispute is resolved.
Our approach rests on an early and candid assessment of risk, a clear strategy and firm representation. The aim is to resolve the dispute efficiently and with the least disruption to the client's business and reputation.
